Troubleshooting performance issues in a data center environment can be an intimidating endeavor. The complexity of modern computing environments creates many possible ways that things can go wrong, and the insidious nature of performance issues makes them difficult to track down. When you face a total outage, it’s often easy to locate the source—a device that has either shut down or malfunctioned. Slow performance, on the other hand, can be intermittent and is sometimes the result of a series of seemingly unrelated events.
