The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) hasn’t seen an update for a while, with the last notable one in October 2008, but that’s about to change. At the Payment Card Industry Community Meeting in Orlando last month, the PCI Security Standards Council (PCI SSC) released the draft version of PCI DSS 2.0. This document is the result of the first iteration through the two-year PCI DSS lifecycle, which includes feedback loops designed to incrementally improve the standard on a predictable timeframe.
